Sitting in a waiting room for my hubby to finish up his acupuncture appt & reading your recipes. Mulligatawny soup was a childhood favorite from my school lunch rotation. I’m very excited to make it this weekend. We’ve had “Snowmageddon” in the suburbs of Philadelphia & soup & soup making has become a staple! I’m excited to make this. thnx!
I made your Italian wedding soup recipe, with a few minor riffs (I only had ground pork so did not used beef in the meatballs, and I added lacinato kale and spinach as greens to approximate escarole, which has been very scarce in these parts lately, but I love the flavor). Your idea to combine chicken and beef broths and wine is genius — It results in a deeply flavorful stock, approximating the flavor of a long-simmered homemade stock. It lasted several days in our house, and just got better the longer it sat in the fridge.
I adore your recipes. The pecan shortbread bars are a Thanksgiving and Christmas staple.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
❤️
I can’t wait to try some of these delicious soups. Your recipes are my first go to every time and are easy to follow without complicated and hard to get ingredients. Thank you so much

Those soup recipes look absolutely wonderful. Soup is my overall dinner favoite so I will be trying them.
I love both your cookbooks. Your instructions are very well written so its easy to get good results every time. Thanks!
I’m a seasoned home cook for many years. I am 82. Love, love your recipes-more than any of the “famous chefs” on TV or online. Just a question, why not recommend escarole in lieu of
spinach in your Italian Wedding Soup. I know the greens are interchangeable, but I have always made this with escarole. Just wondering. Keep up the good work. You are a fantastic chef!!
Thanks for your very kind words about the recipes, Marie! 💓
It’s perfectly fine to use escarole in the Italian wedding soup if you’d like.
Hi, Jen,
I love your asparagus soup and make it frequently
However, I have a lot of broccoli florets on hand, and wonder if I can use the same recipe to make soup with them. I want to avoid the dairy in your broccoli soup.
Hi Avis, Glad you like the soup! I’ve never tried this with broccoli and not sure how it will impact the texture, but taste-wise, I think it will work nicely. Please LMK how it turns out if you try it!
Great inspiration for making soup. I love your recipes…with usually available and easy to get ingredients, I have tried many of your recipes with good success.
Your split pea soup with ham recipe is utterly scrumptious! I have made it twice in the last two weeks. It’s especially hearty and flavourful and fills up my 4 sons and husband during our long and cold Canadian winter. Thank you for this family favourite!
I agree. So satisfying even for an 80 year old without my sons at home. It freezes well for single portion servings and pleasing to share with other single elders. My favorite. I love getting your collection of good healthy alternatives.
